Creative Artists build Westeros in Minecraft

Minecraft is played by millions across the globe. This is a game with very basic graphics, no storyline and you don’t see this advertised on TV. This is a game specially made for creative people. In architectural courses, I know of lecturers who insist their students to play minecraft.

Designed in 2009 by Markus Persson, this game is all about digging (mine) and building (craft) different kinds of 3D blocks within a world of varying terrains and habitats. Keeping this in mind, some Game of Thrones fans have build Westeros inside Minecraft:

King’s Landing

Sept of Balor in King’s Landing

The Wall

To reconstruct the fortress of Harren the Black? Surely this is folly, and hubris to be punished by The Seven.

You can check out more works at Westeroscraft. This is just Westeros. Now they have started building Essos, which is over five times the size of Westeros. But as GOT fans will know, to complete Essos George R R Martin should complete his final book.

P.S: Yes ‘Lord of the Rings’ fans, I will be posting an article of artists that created Middle Earth in Minecraft too.
