Five New Marvel series coming soon

Marvel.com announced that they will be creating four new series and one mini series for Netflix, surrounding some of the well-known characters in the Marvel Universe.

Marvel fans had been begging for characters like Luke Cage and the Iron Fist to come on the big screen. Fans also wanted a daredevil reboot. After the success of SHIELD and ARROW (not in Marvel Universe, but still), Marvel decided that Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and The Defenders will be made into TV series.

For those who are not familiar with the characters,
Here is Iron Fist, and this guy is mainly into martial arts. But, do not confuse him for Batman.

Then there is Luke Cage, known for his impervious skin and super human strength. People say that “The Rock” is best suited for this character.

The next character is Jessica Jones, and I’m sure most of you reading this wont know the character. Her story is interesting, she also has superhuman strength but to know how she got it, see here.

I need not given a special introduction to “Daredevil”, as his movie is already made. Still just for the record, Daredevil is hmm, kinda like Spiderman but he doesn’t shoot webs.

I just gave you a brief story about the characters, there is much more to them. The series will have its own individual characters, which will form “The Defenders” series. Just like how “The Avengers” were made.

The executives behind this feel that Netflix can offer more to users than any major network.

“This deal is unparalleled in its scope and size, and reinforces our commitment to deliver Marvel’s brand, content and characters across all platforms of storytelling. Netflix offers an incredible platform for the kind of rich storytelling that is Marvel’s specialty. This serialized epic expands the narrative possibilities of on-demand television and gives fans the flexibility to immerse themselves how and when they want in what’s sure to be a thrilling and engaging adventure” -Alan Fine, President of Marvel Entertainment.

This deal looks very risky for Marvel. But Marvel wants to give the fans the characters we deserve. There haven’t been any announcements on the casting, scripts or directors yet. This is truely the golden era for geeks. As there are now only a handful of characters left to show them on the big screen.
