“The Wolverine” actor recently posted a picture on Instagram showing his bandaged nose after having his cancerous cells removed. He was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma (cancerous cells that grow on the surface of the skin).
He posted saying:
Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right! I had a basil cell carcinoma. Please don’t be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!
Representatives of the actor don’t have much information on his condition beyond the Instagram post.
Basal cell carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer and accounts for more than 90 percent of U.S. skin cancer patients. The basal cell carcinomas rarely spread but if not removed can damage and disfigure surrounding tissue.
We wish Hugh Jackman a speedy recovery. We want to see more of Wolverine, and we can’t think of anyone else taking his place.
