Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Confirmed for Hercules: The Thracian Wars

Paramount and MGM is preparing to create a film adaptation of Moore’s ideas, under the direction of filmmaker Brett Ratner and with the lead role going to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Aksel Hennie is cast in the role of Tydeus. Rufus Sewell is cast as Autolycus. Ian McShane has been cast as Amphiarus, part priest, part prophet and part warrior who is Hercules’ counselor. Reece Ritchie is cast as Iolaus. Tobias Santelmann is cast as the villain Rhesus Ingrid Bolsø Berdal is as the female lead.

Storyline: Having enduring his legendary twelve labors, Hercules, the Greek demigod, has his life as a sword-for-hire tested when the King of Thrace and his daughter seek his aid in defeating a tyrannical warlord.

Movie is set to release on 25 July 2014 (USA).
